Note: This is the third and final part of a series on Politics, COVID, and being pro-life. If you haven’t already, I would ask that you please at least read part two. Part one is more introductory in character.
I guess my main “beef” with the conservative pro-life side of this debate is that there is a tendency, at least within certain circles of the latter, toward being either overly rationalistic or overly individualistic when it comes to legitimate concerns more likely to be voiced by the liberal side.
I admit that it’s hard to talk about this without painting in overly broad strokes. But here are some proclivities within conservatism — American conservatism, at any rate — that suggest themselves as problematic:
